Explore the ancient wonders and serene beaches of southern Crete with our "Phaistos Palace and Matala Beach” excursion.
Located 55km south of Heraklion, Phaistos Palace was a prominent Minoan city inhabited since 6000 BC. The palace, built on a low hill in the Messara plain, offers panoramic views and covers 18 acres, making it the second largest Minoan palace after Knossos. Walking through the ruins, you can imagine the grandeur of the ancient Minoan civilization and marvel at the architectural prowess of that era.
Next, we travel to Matala Beach, which was the port of Phaistos during the Minoan period. This safe, natural harbor on the Bay of Messara features a gently sweeping sand and pebble beach. Despite its popularity, Matala retains the charm of the quiet fishing village it once was. The laid-back lifestyle of the hippies from the 60s and 70s is still evident, making it a unique destination.
Our excursion includes hotel pick-up and drop-off, transport by air-conditioned luxury vehicles, and an excellent English-speaking driver. You’ll also enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, natural mineral water, and child seats upon request. The price for this memorable experience is 250,00€ for up to 3 passengers and 280,00€ for 4-7 passengers, with a minimum duration of 5 hours.
Please note that food and beverages are not included, and the entrance fee to Phaistos Palace is 8,00€. Gratuities and tour guides are also not included but can be arranged upon request. We offer free cancellation up to 48 hours in advance. Book now to immerse yourself in the rich history and natural beauty of Crete!
